The Hot Air Balloons that filled the Monroe County skyline on September 19th and 20th were deemed yet another huge success by locals and visitors alike. Twenty balloons that lit up in a synchronized glow at dusk, live music, and good food were among the attractions that drew in even larger crowds than the first festival last September. Thousands of people enjoyed the event that benefitted Hiwassee H.O.P.E., an organization that helps former foster children excel as they enter both college and life. The festival was made possible by the Bingham Group and local sponsors.
